Orphéon by Diptyque is a Woody Chypre fragrance for women and men. Orphéon was launched in 2021 and created by perfumer Olivier Pescheux.
The fragrance is inspired by the legendary Orphéon jazz bar that once stood next to Diptyque’s original boutique at 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain in Paris. The composition recreates the atmosphere of the 1960s Parisian nightlife, blending the scent of wooden tables, tobacco smoke and elegant perfumes worn by the bar’s patrons.
The fragrance opens with fresh juniper berries that introduce a crisp aromatic character reminiscent of gin cocktails. In the heart, delicate jasmine adds a soft floral elegance. As the scent settles, powdery notes blend with cedar and tonka bean, creating a warm woody base with smooth sweetness and refined depth.
